Member Scholarship Program
Do you want to have an impact on your community but hesitate because of the financial commitment? Although the intent of Impact 100 Jersey Coast is to attract members who will give $1,100 each year to fund our grants and operations, we also seek members who will contribute their time and talents to the organization but currently lack the funds to join.
With that in mind, we are offering a limited number of full or partial scholarships to prospective members of our 2020 class.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to request an application form.
This membership is conferred with all the same rights and privileges as any Impact membership.
Impact is a 100% volunteer-run organization. We rely on the energy and talents of a diverse group of committed women and welcome all members to get involved in any capacity that best suits their time and interest.
Scholarship recipients are expected to participate in one or more of the following types of volunteer activities:
- Recruit new members.
Recommend friends who might be interested in joining as a member, host or encourage a fellow member to host an information session, or provide administrative support for the recruitment process, such as sending invitations or preparing presentation materials.
- Engage current members.
Connect with members to help ensure they feel positive about their involvement, enjoy their experience, and consider continuing their membership in years to come.
- Lead or join a Focus Area Committee.
Review and evaluate submitted grant proposals. Assess applications, select semifinalists, conduct site visits, and select finalists to be voted on by membership. Training provided.
MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS TEAM
- Raise awareness and support with membership and the public.
Spread the word to women in your community by promoting Impact 100 Jersey Coast via email and social media. Assist with promotion, press, social media, event planning, sponsor outreach, graphic design, or photography.
- Raise awareness and support of local community partners.
Establish and maintain relationships with organizations that provide cash donations and/or services to support our operations and events.
- Help our organization run efficiently.
Offer accounting, legal, or technology support. Coordinate our volunteer effort by helping members find roles that match their interests and talents.
We also ask that all members attend and vote at our annual general membership meeting in November and provide ongoing feedback on your experience as a member.
Accepted members will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator to explore their background and interests in order match you to the right volunteer area of Impact.
Scholarships are for one year (typically April 1 through March 31).
Applicants must be at least 21 years old. Previous scholarship applicants are eligible to reapply. Past scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply for a partial ($550) scholarship. Past members of Impact 100 may also apply. Scholarships are reserved for women who lack the funds to join Impact so we ask that candidates please carefully evaluate their finances and need before applying for an Impact scholarship.
Application and Review Process
At any point during the process you might be contacted via email or phone by a member of the Scholarship Committee.
Applications for the 2020 membership cycle must be received by March 1, 2020 to be eligible to participate in the 2020 grant cycle. All applicants will be notified of their status by March 31, 2020.
The Impact Scholarship Committee maintains the privacy and confidentiality of all scholarship applicants and recipients. We believe it’s necessary to ensure all recipients receive equal treatment and consideration as their Impact peers. Therefore we kindly ask that all applicants and recipients keep their scholarship status private and confidential.
